|
|
Hi,
to all of you.Hope u r having a gr8 time here.I have a question.
My friend (a fellow aviation buff) told me tht he flew once on an IC A320 from SIN to MAA. The wierd thing (at least acc. to me) is tht he insists tht the aircraft had a 2-4-2 seating (hence the name widebody with A320).
I have been cotesting this all along and saying it is practically impossible to squeeze in 8 seats and 2 aisles in an A320.
He countered this by saying tht the international A320's have double bogies to compensate the "extra weight" of passengers and seating.
I showed him a inside pic of a double bogie A320 which had a 3-3 seating and also showed a pic of the plane in KL and Bkk. Still he refused and says the A320 to SIN have a special seating.
I did some research and found out tht IC flew A300 also to SIN(The Hindu). Could it be possible tht he flew in A300 but doesn't want to relent?
it's just tht i beleive tht he is being arrogant and egoist abt not accepting it. I have only turned a aviation buff recently and he became a buff much b4 me.
But How do I convince him ??
Sorry for the long post.

IA was operating the A320 on MAA-SIN till recently, but now that the A300s are back after a major overhauling, IA has reintroduced the A300. at 0055 hrs.
No 2x4x2 on the A320. It's the A300.
As improbable as a funny and wild story going around that Indian Airlines' flights, of late, are taking off/landing without any inflight announcements being made!!!!!!! |

IC operates a A300 in the MAA-SIN leg but due to Hajj it was operated by a A320 on temporary basis. Now its back to the A300. In economy its 2-4-2 while in J class it 2-3-2 _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

Ok then go and tell him that you saw a mermaid when you went to lake near mumbai or that you saw reincarnation of pegasus(half horse and half man) in a remote village ...... and all of us at airliners-india.net can be your witnesses when you state this fact ...... |

now u got two options
Option A : plant a solid kick in his aft end whilst sayin " here's ur 2-4-2 u !#!#!#"
Option B: Tell him to contact Airbus on how he managed to fit 2-4-2 seats in an acft cabin dat is 12 feet across ...
even if we take each seat to be half a feet across, it would still mean 16 feet. So ur frnd must have got a window seat..only diff... his seat was outside the acft

I was exactly thinking of the same thing. A new Airbus 320-242 is being used where people are made to stand in 2-4-2 config. |

once you've done that, his aft end would be small enough to fit into those small seats and he would stand corrected.
cheers!!

Guys!! guess what??... im booked to fly to Del on the 4th of March at 1900hrs on IC888 and as i just checked... the IC website shows the operating type as the new A319!!!
can anyone please shed more info on the seating config on IC's A319??? also any recommendations on the seat with the best legroom?? I'm 6'4 in height so i could do with the extra legspace... and i prefer a window seat...

Let me throw some insights.
I have travelledo n ths route about six years back on IC. It was an A300 operating around 1 AM ex MAA and 8 Am from SIN. However soon after (about 4 years bacK) IC introduced a second flight in the evening (in 2000) ex SIN which is operated by an A320.
Even when the A300 was operating, occasionally the a/c used to be switrched to a A320. This was because IC had just one A300 operating ex MAA and if the aircraft went tech, they used to swtich to the 320 (ofcourse with a lot of pax off loading as the flights generally go full). The aircraft used to do MAA SIN MAA, then MAA CMB MAA and then the evening MAA BOM MAA flight. The other A300 on regular operations is also based ex BOM and does the BOM - GOI CCJ SHJ run and the BOM CCJ COK SHJ run.
In fact just a few days before I had my flight to SIN on the A300, IC lost another A300 at DEL when some mecahncis on trying to taxi the aircraft after maintenance managed to ram it against the airport boundary wall.
I flew on the IC A300 to SIN enroute to BKK, My conference schedule meant that I could not take the regular IC non stop flight (which at that time operated only two days a week ) and TG had not yet started their services. MH and SQ weere expensive , so I ended up taking a very unusual connection.
MAS SIN - IC - A300
4 hour stop over amd then SIN BKK on an IC 320.
On the return I took the non stop BKK MAA A320 back.
So I thus had the good fortune to transfer from one IC international flight to another IC international flight at SIN. IC at that time had a SIN BKK DEL daily flight with full pax rights on SIN BKK. |

2 across in cockpit.
4 across in Business Class.
2 across in rear galley.
(In between, cattle, so that's OK)
2-4-2?
Happy Holi, too.[/b] |

LOL, that was funny.
Ask him if he needs a picture of an IC A300 interior to satisfy himself ?
