In just about 94 hours, I'll finally be breaking my duck with the A380!
This will be my 3rd attempt, and I really do hope that it finally is an A380.

The flights:
SQ469 CMB SIN 20AUG 0120 0740 333 *A
SQ856 SIN HKG 20AUG 0930 1330 380 *A
BR*** HKG TPE 23AUG **** **** *** *A
BR*** TPE HKG 25AUG **** **** *** *A
SQ861 HKG SIN 26AUG 1520 1910 380 *A
SQ468 SIN CMB 26AUG 2255 0005+1 333 *A

Yep, it is the Hong Kong and Taipei trip up next!
People on WhatsApp might remember what the aircraft combination for EVA Air is, however here I'll keep it a secret for now, and I'll present it to you on the TR Smile

Regards
Jish

Does LH show A320(SL) as equipment ? I am amazed. With so many A32x with them and upgrades and downgrades that happen, they are exposing the SL as a seperate sub fleet and putting it on GDS !

Do let us know if the equipment was the same when you fly !

Even I was surprised to see Sharklets listed. However, I think it is mentioned just for the sake of it. They list 737-300 and 737-500 separately. Last month my DRS-FRA flight was supposed to be a 735 but was operated by a 733.

Sad you missed the SL. These multiple GDS changes is a lot of cost for the airline since the billing is based on per change basis.
Seabury - at both KF and 9W, stressed on minimal changes on GDS as one of their recommendations

I have flown SL on 6E, so it doesn't really matter.

Really? I didn't know that. But I think, given the size of LH's fleet and network such changes are inevitable.

Yes I agree. Also LH IT is very strong, they have their own systems and huge bargaining power with other GDS

Time for a Euro trip. And thanks to LH's discount vouchers worth 120 Euros, it costs almost what it would have cost me in trains.

Some crazy routing though. But with that many flights, I am not complaining.

LH063 FMO-FRA 26th OCT 0650 0750 - CRJ700
LH128 FRA-STR 26th OCT 0940 1040 - A319

LH135 STR-FRA 28th OCT 1425 1515 - B735
LH1040 FRA-CDG 28th OCT 1600 1715 - A320
LX647 CDG-ZRH 2nd NOV 0700 0815 - A320
LX1176 ZRH-STR 2nd NOV 0935 1020 - AvroRJ100

LH2149 STR-MUC 2nd NOV 1630 1720 - CRJ700
LH1848 MUC-FCO 2nd NOV 1915 2045 - A321
LH1841 FCO-MUC 6th NOV 0850 1025 - A321
LH2146 MUC-STR 6th NOV 1130 1215 - CRJ700

LH135 STR-FRA 6th NOV 1430 1520 - B735
LH066 FRA-FMO 6th NOV 1720 1810 - CRJ700

Just hoping LH doesn't screw my plans up with another strike.

Cheers,
Sukrit

As I mentioned at the end of my last trip, LH delayed my bag and I got it the next day.

As I had nothing of value in that bag and had asked them to deliver it the next day, instead of doing it the same night, I wasn't expecting any compensation. Even they weren't willing to give much, but after a series of emails and calls they agreed to the following:

1. 50 Euro discount voucher

2. Voucher for one-time access to LH Business Lounge.

I've had 28 status flights with LH this calendar year and did not want to miss moving to the Frequent Traveller by just 2 flights. So it's time for a mileage run partly paid for by the voucher.

7th Dec FMO-FRA 0650 0740
7th Dec FRA-FMO 1305 1355

Cheers,
Sukrit

Whoa - nice - and have fun at FTL status - which is perfect when flying with the LH group (OS/ LX/ LH), but quite useless on *A - as it's at the *Silver level - good for nothing. More reason to stick to the LH group!

If I am not mistaken, that "Vegetarian Hindu meal" on SAS intra-EU would have consisted of two dried slices of bread with a slice of cheese and a wilting bit of lettuce.

Or did your friend get anything more edible?

Given we were in "J" class (Economy seating with middle seat empty), we got a far better meal - both my meal and his AVML meal were good.

Here's 2 pics of my meal - did not take a pic of his meal Sad

My stint in Germany comes to an end (for the time being) and it's time to return to India. The itinerary is below

FLIGHT DATE SEGMENT DPTR ARVL
------ ----- -------- ---- ----
LH63 04APR FMO FRA 0635 0725
AI8754 04APR FRA BLR 1300 0115
OPERATED BY LUFTHANSA

What's weird is the fact that AI8754 is being sold for 600 Euros by Air India, while LH754 is being sold for 3000 odd Euros. Shocked

One question - Would it be considered and AI flight or LH flight, as I cannot earn miles on AI flights to and from European dsetinations?

Cheers,
Sukrit

AI8754 04APR FRA BLR 1300 0115
OPERATED BY LUFTHANSA

What's weird is the fact that AI8754 is being sold for 600 Euros by Air India, while LH754 is being sold for 3000 odd Euros. Shocked

One question - Would it be considered and AI flight or LH flight, as I cannot earn miles on AI flights to and from European dsetinations?

Cheers,
Sukrit

If you're earning on Lufthansa Miles and More, it would be considered a LH flight - but the (Lufthansa) fare class could mean you earn 25% or lower miles!

The fare class on AI8754 is H. M&M H earns 100% on LH and 50% on AI. So which one would it be?

That's the AI fare class. Retrieve your booking on LH's website, and check the fare class there (or call them to check). It's that booking class which will be used to determine miles earned on LH's M&M program. And yes - it might be different between AI and LH's bookings Sad

They took AI's booking class for mileage calculation. Ended up getting 50% plus an extra 25% for FT.

Enjoy - as I shared on the Whatsapp group - I had a thoroughly enjoyable flight on AI's dreamliner yesterday on the AI403 sector.

So here goes me..
I would be heading off to university. But before that, I will be going on my routine India trip.

CMB-GFK could've easily be done on 3 or 4 flights. But I'm doing it in only 8 flights. Razz

Jet Airways 9W255 Colombo to Mumbai 12th July B73H
Vistara UK944 Mumbai to New Delhi 12th July A30SL
Air India AI20 New Delhi to Kolkata 13th July B788
Jet Airways 9W626 Kolkata to Mumbai 17th July B73H
SpiceJet SG421 Mumbai to Hyderabad 21st July B738
Air India AI966 Hyderabad to Mumbai 21st July B744
Jet Airways 9W252 Mumbai to Colombo 21st July B73H

SriLankan Airlines UL127 Colombo to Chennai 29th July A332
Jet Airways 9W470 Chennai to Mumbai 29th July B73H (Premiere class!)
Jet Airways 9W484 Mumbai to Kolkata 30th July B73H
Emirates EK573 Kolkata to Dubai 30th July A332
Emirates EK225 Dubai to San Francisco 31st July A380

Delta Air Lines DL5736 San Francisco to Seattle E175
Alaska Airlines AS422 Seattle to Portland B734
Alaska Airlines AS384 Portland to San Francisco B738

Delta Air Lines DL2764 San Francisco to Los Angeles B717
Delta Air Lines DL1435 Los Angeles to Minneapolis B73J
Delta Air Lines DL4473 Minneapolis to Grand Forks CRJ200

After all this, I would've flown the most number of flights in a year (22, plus more to come in December).

New airlines: UK, DL, AS
New a/c types: E175, B717, B73J
New airports: SFO, SEA, PDX, MSP, GFK

Another edit in plans. Decided to give ChindiGo and Vistara (#vistaradoomed) a toss for.... AI!

Flying AI404 instead of 6E466 and UK870 on the same date for the Dream)liner Very Happy Very Happy

AI 404 should give you a nice experience minus the pictures, due to the flight time. Abhijeeth: do we need to remind you that a trip report is long due? Very Happy
In eager anticipation, Sumantra.

Minus - the view outside, pictures aplenty, Sumantra Ji Cool

Will be thoroughly scrutinizing AI! They'd better be good, I ditched Vistara's premium Economy for the Dream)Liner. No nightmares please Razz Laughing

I hope so, too! Things you will not get on Vistara: in addition to the Dream)liner bells and whistles (more moist cabin air, different washroom ops, the 5-step window darkener: a pity, you will not get to experience it that much, the quiet cabin), you will get one power-port per seat in Economy (under the seat, which has its plus and minus points), IFE with slightly disappointing content (the B777s have a much wider choice, of course, they operate typically on longer routes), and of course, typically good Air India legroom (the 3-3-3 does not feel that cramped, even on the longer European trips, and mind you, I am quite a wide-bod), and fantastic food, both in terms of quality, and quantity.
Cheers, Sumantra.

I was actually hoping to fly AI on their flagship route to Australia - DEL-SYD, but the fare that gets me my Krisflyer miles, was too expensive to bother Sad

Yes Abhijeeth, SQ is rather stingy with miles accrual on many counts. AI seems to be relatively good, with their recent copying of 9W's minimum 500 miles on short sectors being firmly in place now. Flagship route? Hmm...the route that should have done very well is unfortunately not doing well, with the AI internal squabbles (ex-IC and PMAI) also playing a role.
Cheers, Sumantra.
