Also till now everybody wanted to just hit BOM/DEL. With S2 going to HYD and Spice (or is it Deccan?) creating a mini-base at AMD, and international carriers starting operations at non-metros might have helped just a little.

Kingfisher airlines and Air Deccan will be based in BLR once when the new apt is ready,Go air and Indigo might be based in either CCU or MAA.IC and 9W will remain in their current hubs MUM and DEL.And once when other new airlines come into service, they will be spread across other cities of India.Few cities that comes to my mind are Pune,AMD,Cochin,TRV,GOA,ATQ and maybe Coimbatore

Till the apt infrastructure is complete, the civil aviation authority should put a temporary halt in allowing new airlines to enter into the domestic skies. Moreover once when the new acfts, ordered by the current airlines come,it'll bring more problems to the apt authority.

Honestly speaking i dnt have a very positive feeling abt the current aviation boom which is raising in India . Becoz unlike the developed countries or countries which are actually booming where we find fabulous connectivity to every nook and corner of the world India continues to UK/US centric.

I guess we indians actually need to be bitten by the travel bug before the hospitality and air travel industry starts to take us seriously...

I guess its a matter of time when Aviation with Helicopters & smaller Turboprops will connect smaller cities. The problem might be Infrastructures time bound & shortage of Flight crew & Maintenance Staff.
