According to this thread on airliners.net about HKG aviation

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/3242654/1/

From reply no.10

Quote:
" can see as at Feb 6 the following has been booked with the schedule coordinator:

Jet Airways booking slots for BOM(JAI002/003) and DEL(JAI004/001), dailies with A332"

Sahara cancelled their slot booking

i think the flight numbers should be 9W though, but finally BOM recieves a much deserved non-stop HKG service---but i think they will have to wait till the ASA is ammended--but i think instead of DEL--which already as AI and CX non-stop they could have gone for BLR/MAA/CCU

The flight numbers will be 9W, I think JAI refers to "Jet Airways India" - which is the operator applying for those slots!

9W should not have a problem filling the a/c on this route. CX will have to watch out now - most folks would prefer a non-stop rather than CX's current one-stop service via BKK.

Yeah bt then the question is hw many of the pax who use CX actually are bound for HK. I guess quite a bit use the airline hub for connecting into other flights..

Is 9W planning to extend its A332 flights to HKG to some other destination.

makes sense. It would be anybody's guess that 9W is aiming for US west coast market. Who all are major carriers from west coast to HKG? And what is the status of negotions between GoI and HK admin regarding fifth freedom rights?

My vote is to extend the BOM-HKG ns to NRT and OSA: NRT can be 3x and OSA can be 4x.

The DEL-HKG can be OD.

Does the current India-Hongkong bilateral agreement permit these additional flights?

At the moment India is allowed 5 flights per week (any aircraft) plus 1250 seats.

Why is Jet operating the 330 on the domestic sectors? I understand that their current infra of 3 X 343 + 2 X 332 is over capacity considering they only have 3 flights a day (2 from BOM and 1 from DEL to LHR). If this is the shape of things to come, I'd say its nice that we get wide bodies on domestic sectors. Its more economical to operate a 330 on a DEL-BOM with 80% load than a 320 with 100% load.

Its all about wide bodies on domestic sectors. 9W can fly more passengers in the peak hours and attract pax from airlines like S2, IT and IC.

Are they ??? Thats news to me . Isnt the second A332 operating their superhit ATQ-LHR flights... more inputs required..

Secondly Dabth mate difficult to comment whether BOM-HKG will be hit till we hav load list of other airlines operating on this sector for atleast a quater.. Then i guess a bit of playing with those numbers to forsee wat wud be the loads like on the new flight.

Bt most imp to identify hw many of pax is actually HK bound Unless 9W takes its flight somewhere else beyond HK or codeshares with CX or some other airline.

its not really difficult... AI has a vice grip on this sector now... CX's via-via flight goes filled to the max... a direct flight will definitely pull in 80% capacity im sure which would more than help the flight operate profitably..
