yes confirmed. Here is the link MyAviation.net

Also found some additional info, that Bombardier might be looking for a strategic parter in India. According to the news item quoted
Quote:
"I think the CSeries will be flying in five to six years," said Karl Moore, of the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University in Montreal. "They're just waiting for a couple of elements to come together."

Chief among them is settling on an engine design, possibly one being developed by Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, Conn., and developing a partnership with an airline manufacturer in China or Russia, he said.

Beaudoin said a strategic partner could come from Russia, China or India.

AFAIK, 9W was going to buy some bombardiers. What happened to that? I had read this in the in-flight magazine of 9W a couple of years ago.

I doubt 9W would opt out of the ATRs.

Indus Air was interested in the CRJ though.

As far as i cn see, CD will be getting more ATR's. My money goes on them. Coz all the current ATRs operate in NE where the airfield are small and rugged, as is the case with some other parts too. I guess there may be a case for ERJ 170/190 on routes that were served by B732.

Anyways that's my 2 cents goes.
Cheers

Looks like S2 is in the market for a few of those...

The President of Sahara Airlines Ltd, Mr Alok Sharma, thinks that there is a big opportunity for turboprop planes and regional jets in India. He made this point during his presentation on the first of the two-day South Asia Aviation Finance Conference being held in Mumbai.

That probably explains why Air Sahara, as the airline is popularly known, is in talks with Canada's Bombardier Inc, the world's third-largest aircraft manufacturer, to buy up to 25 aircraft.

Spotted an AI Boeing 757 today in AMD with TC-GLA as its registration. The only change from the picture displayed below was the name Air India on the bird.

Tried searching for details on the web and on Anet, found nothing...

Clicked a picture from a friend's mobile, will be posting soon. Any information ?
