A quick live TR (its 6 PM in Hyd and I landed about an hour back)
Flew 9W 451 from Mumbai to Hyderabad.
Reached Mumbai airport at 2:30 PM (For a 3:30 PM departure) completely deserted departure lounge quickly cleared security and went upstairs to the Premiere/Platinum lounge to grab a cappuccino. A short wait and then the flight boarding was announced (at around 2:45 PM) boarded VT JGL one of the few wingletted 737-700s. This is an ex-aloha airlines aircraft (from airfleets) and you can still see the livery of its old operator on the J Class seats (all leather btw).
Departure ahead of sched about 2 minutes ahead and departed on 14-32. Skipped the snacks, ate some fruit and caught up with a little reading. Landed bang on schedule and were at our aerobridge gate (Bay 50) at the targeted time. The new Hyd airport really is lovely its my first planned trip to Hyd after Shamshabad started and it is lovely - having experienced BIAL last month for the first time, I think GHIAL is way better than Bangalore. Starting with the common sense approach to toilets (lots of them, no doors) to decent public address to wide walking spaces (we were parked on the last aerobridge so it was a nice walk to baggage claim) to a decent baggage claim and finally a very nice car pick up zone (with none of Bangalores pesky private taxi touts) very very impressed. Saw a lovely Air India lounge as well (well done and looking quite classy). What impressed me even more is that I was in my hotel in the city (Banjara hills) exactly 1 hour from landing very decent approach roads and my driver pointed out the 30 KM expressway being built. All in all very impressed with Hyd so far. Now for some great Biryani in the evening !
Returning back on Wednesday morning with IC so should get a good sense of departures as well |

Thanks for posting the TR - sounds like you had a good trip - with typical low-rush being witnessed these days. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

I agree with HYD being a superb airport. I was suitably impressed. Flew in and out of there last week and very nice. |
