Hi,
I'll appreciate any help I can get on this one  I've been selected for the Kingfisher Cadet Pilot Program and am supposed to start training in July. Kingfisher says it'll train me on ATR 72-500 when i come back.
What bothers me is the present scenario of fuel price hikes and the consequent losses domestic airlines are having to incur. Is this a good time to go for my flight training? What are the chances of Kingfisher recruiting fresh CPL holders?
Being an outsider to the industry (but not entirely ignorant) I'm desperate to get informed opinions before taking this huge step.
Please help! The rest of my life depends on this decision

when or where did they open up the cadet's scheme? i heard of it but never saw it anywhere

| Even spicejet and indigo airlines have a cadet pilot course...i was thinking of joining the Indigo program...but then i was already into my 3rd year of engg...Kingfisher and spicejet have their gnd training with united aviation in gurgaon whereas the indigo ppl do their gnd trng straight at Sabena Flight academy in Arizona... |

Even indigo spicejet and kingfisher hv their cadets flying at sabena...isnt it gettin overcrowded der?

What does the Training programme specify.
Does it not assure the individual a job if sucessfull.

Yes it does. It says Kingfisher will induct me as a trainee co-pilot once i complete my flight training successfully.
But what's bothering me is the fuel price hikes and if Kingfisher will even be around after a year. What if it is merged into some other airline? Does my job offer still hold? And i guess if they have no vacancies by the time i return then i'm screwed
SHOULD I GO FOR THE TRAINING ????

Personally I feel that IT will continue to need pilots as they expand in the next 1-2 years. As they are likely to start intl ops this fall, I presume some of their senior 320 pilots will be upgraded to their 330s and so on, and they'll backfill the open positions with fresh hires. And nothing like it if you're a part of the Kingfisher "sponsored" training, as they're then more likely to look at you as a prospective pilot rather than an "outsider".
