Hi Guys,
I am posting this on behalf of my dad. He is going to retire soon from the Indian Air Force and he is eager to join the Aviation Industry here in India. The matter is that he nor I know what sort of job avenues are there for him.
Well he was a pilot and has flown for about 12 years accumulating about 4 and a half housand hours and then on being medically down changed to logistics. He is in this branch for almost 18 years now. So what sort of profile can he expect with his experience?
Any feedback will be helpful.
Thanks

If your father is a pilot, I'm sure the major airlines will snap him up in an instant, given the shortage of crews and the fact that he has more than the required hours to get hired. _________________ http://openflights.org/user/akumanduri |

Being medically unfit to Fly....His options would be in Flt Ops [Training/despatch/scheduling/records section/regulatory coordination] or Flight Safety, where his experience/knowledge could be put to best use.

Thanks MEL.
Well he has changed to Logistics Branch. IAF structure is divided into various branches like flying, technical, Met, educational and logistics etc. So when he was grounded, he opted to convert into logistics branch.
Thanks and regards

Airlines too have a very specialised Logistics department which really is a hidden world of its own. Im sure he'll be picked up within a wink of an eye with his experience. Just ask him to drop in to the airline HQ and meet up with the head of Logistics for a chat. I'm sure he'll be in !
