Hi everyone. Can someeone tell me the answers of the following:
1. Why is the centre of an aircraft engine painted white (swirl)?
2. How does a single engine fuselage mounted aircraft overcome torque reaction (helicopter theory)?
I would be thankful if someone tells me.

1.The Spiral on the Fan Spinner is an Indication to Ground personnell that the Fan is rotating.
2.Most Single engined Aircraft have their Tail Fin deflected to counter rotation.

Oh thanks buddy,
One of my freinds told me it is also painted that way to distract the birds coming in the way while flying.
Is it true? _________________ India is one of the richest countries in the world.

I've heard the thing about birds too as well as what Mel said. Just because it still happened doesn't mean it's not for that reason. Nothing is 100%. |

If the aircraft is flying I would think the blades turn fast enough to make the white swirls invisible so I doubt that, unless the bird can see 100 frames per second
(or can they?) _________________ eP007 |

I have some more doubts. Actually i knew the answers earlier but i dont remember them as of now.
1. Why does the chord of a propeller decreases in width towards tip and why is it twisted?
2. What is the advantage of a gull wing?
Suggestions and questions are welcome in this thread. _________________ India is one of the richest countries in the world.

the relative wind speed increases as we move from the hub to the tip, hence the force prodced at the tip would be greater than at the hub ... hence a wash out is given to have even force distribution ... |
