BOM-CJB-CCJ
IC-657 ; VT-EYL
J-Class
BOM-CJB
STD: 0855 LT; STA: 1045 LT
ATD: 0910 LT; T/O: 0930; T/D: 1055; ATA: 1102
The day began with a call from my office stating that i had to travel to CCJ on company business. So off i went to the airport, toting my bags, to catch a flight..... and not any flight, an IC by AI flight.
PS: The above lines have been inspired by all the Ekta Kapoor serials
The baggage screening and check-in was a breeze as there was not much rush in the terminal. Lounged around in the "new" IC lounge...the one which is hidden behind the KF lounge. I did not get the time to even finish my coffee before they announced boarding, albeit a slightly delayed call. This was a result of the acft getting delayed out of DEL...fog seemed to be the main culprit. But still i boarded at 0855 LT and had no trouble in locating my seat......5A.
My seat, even though i got it in a much better condition
My boarding pass, with my secret identity protected
Soon the doors were closed, and we pushed-back facing East. As R27 was in use, it meant a long taxi for us to get to the active runway. The capt was tried his best to reduce the delay, and his taxi speed betrayed his intentions, but alas ATC had the last laugh......we were #4 in the departure sequence. So after 3 departures and a similar number of arrivals, we were cleared to line up and subsequently take-off. We were following the KABSO SID to posn KABSO and thereafter, via BBM VOR to CCB. As there was no PA from the cockpit regarding the cruising altitude, i can only guess it to be in the early 30's from the fact that it took us 25 min to get to our cruise altitude. Once established in cruise, a light meal or rather Hot Snacks was served. As i'm a certified non-veggie, i opted for the same. And this is what i got :
From L to R : Cheese Sandwich, Chocolate Mousse, Chilli chicken, Veg cutlet
Once that was out of the way, i returned to observing the cabin. The seat had a very comfortable pitch and the cabin looked neat and clean...but then again, you expect the same from IC.
Seat Pitch...and that is my camera bag
The cabin
The latest in IFE...Ms Bipasha and the IC Safety Card
Soon we were on our way down, descending for a landing at CJB. The weather at CJB was quite good wit a few clouds hanging around. The crew did the ILS for R23, and at about 800 ft, broke right and performed a circle-to-land maneuver....or in other words, carried out a left hand circuit for R05, though that maneuver scared a lot of CJBians both in the air and on the ground.
The rwy to our left as we initiate the Circle-to-land maneuver
Turning finals.....and scaring people
The landing was smooth and with a lot of reversers and brakes, the acft came to a stop on the rwy. We then proceeded to the end of the runway before making an 180 deg turn and backtracking the runway to our allocated Stand #1.
Reversers and spoilers deployed
Also Spotted SJ VT-SPF and DN VT-DNW at the apron...2 acfts which departed within 10 min of our arrival. The Doors were opened at 1103 LT, and with that, the journey for the CJB bound pax came to and end.
Ramp action...VT-SPF & -DNW
CJB-CCJ

Surprised to read about circle to land, that must be one hell of an approach to fly.
Thought they were pretty exciting in a 172, can't imagine flying it in A320.
BTW - iflytb20 you wouldn't happen to know the minimums for the approach? _________________

Great TR.
The food doesn’t look that great though- shabby presentation and looks like a standard Y class meal. Was it anything special? _________________ eP007 |

VT-EYL - all the shots of this bird on A.net are at SIN for some reason - maybe it's typically used only for intl routings? Anyway - the J looks awesome in that fish-eye shot!
Great pics iflytb - keep them coming! |

Having flown to CJB several times, i have witnessed this approach before..funnily enough also had it once in chennai and to vizag it was a regular feature
Looking forward to CJB-CCJ - having done this sector once, look forward to ur TR..its quite an interesting sector - less than 15 minutes flying time i think |
