LONDON, January 10 (newratings.com) – Japan Airlines Corp (ticker: JAY) Wednesday announced that it is likely to reduce its workforce by about 3,000 employees over the forthcoming three business years, according to the newspaper, Mainichi.

The company intends to cut down more than 1,000 employees during the forthcoming fiscal year, starting in April, and offer early retirement packages to its workers, Mainichi said. Japan Airlines’ mid-term plan includes further restructuring of its group companies and potential sales of around 15 firms, including trading house Jalux Inc, Mainichi added.
