Hong Kong's LCC Oasis has said it is doing well and will be flying to California’s Oakland this June for four times a week initially, while a daily service will be available from August.
Oasis, which offers a one-way economy class ticket to London for as little as 1,000 Hong Kong dollars (128 US dollars), said no price has been fixed for the direct US route but promised a competitive rate.
It's first service was to London’s Gatwick Airport at the end of October last year.
Oasis says that it has done 100 flights last week and carried 25,000 passengers. This January to date, it was 100 percent on time, while load factor was 75 percent from October to date, and that its 1,000 dollar tickets had been sold out six to eights weeks in advance, he said.
Oasis is in talks with LCC easyJet, Southwest Airlines and Jetblue for connections to the rest of Europe and North America
About the new long-haul LCC AirAsia X, Oasis said it was ready as Hong Kong was a better place to fly from than Malaysia

Air AsiaX has also created waves in Singapore and Malaysia when its CEO Tony Fernandes said by next year, his airline will be larger than Singapoer Airlines and Malaysia Airlines put together. SQ has disputed this.

I think American carriers like UA will have the biggest impact, as their service on Y is anyway below par. Carriers like SQ/CX etc (with excellent service) should have lesser impact, though I'm sure they'll feel the heat as well.
