Ahmedabad, January 01: MORE than 300 passengers of an Air-India flight (AI 120) from London to Ahmedabad to Mumbai were stranded after the plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Mumbai airport due a technical fault.

I can't figure out how a LHR-AMD-BOM flt made an emergency landing in BOM before landing in AMD. |

Techinical snag is understandable, flights getting diverted is also understandable.
But why can the airline provide proper information to the waiting people.
And what do people really think they will achieve by ransacking offices. Thats just lame. They should take civilised action and not fly them again.
But AI will not improve because they know that on flashing fares that are $50 less the same customers will come running to them.
The only way to pull up a business is by not patronising them.

If not fly AI on AMD-LHR what is the option?
Fly through KWI or BOM or get a 2 hopper with some other airlines (AMD-BOM-XXX(GULF/Europe)-LHR).
The AMD international is just pathetic. (not that domestic arrivals are any good). Compared to them domestic departure (new one) is a heaven. That reminds me I need to upload the aerial view of the terminals (when my computer decided to co-operate) |

Yeah I see what you mean!!! Didnt realise AMD-LHR didnt have other direct options.
And yeah I have been to AMD intl once. Thats enough to never take me there ever again.
Calling it an airport is a bit of an overstatement.

If its a powerplant snag makes sense to Divert to BOM.If its a SOP.BOM Being the Mx Base,spares would be available.
