Highlights of the new ASA with Denmark, Norway and Sweden:

* SK can operate to one additional point to be selected from CCU/MAA/HYD (other than BOM and DEL)
* Indian carriers continue to get 5th freedom from Points in Europe to point of call in DK, NO, SE
* Up to 21 frequencies/week of 747 capacity, with max 7/frequencies per week to/from any single point
* Waived the earlier "mandatory" commercial agreement with AI
* Open skies for cargo services

Highlights of the new ASA with Qatar:

* No longer bound by the earlier ASA (which was Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and UAE - probably a relic of the earlier Gulf Air)
* MAA and AMD included as ports of call
* Requests for ATQ and CCJ have been deferred
* total of 10,892 seats/week to each side
* Limit of 7/week frequencies to BOM/DEL/HYD/TRV/COK/MAA/AMD
* Pressure on QR to start service to NAG!! QR has assured of services starting from Summer 07
* LCCs from India can offer fares lower by 25% than the lowest published fares filed with the Qatar authorities
* QR allowed to fly only to BOM, CCU, TRV, HYD, COK, DEL, MAA, AMD and NAG. No permission to fly to other points in India (like BLR or GOI or ATQ/JAI etc.).

wow my mom will be really happy with the doha - nagpur services ...lol

btw pardon me for my ignorance what does ASA stand for

and any particular reasons why QR wont fly to BLR , GOI , ATQ , JAI , CCJ etc

DOH - CCJ is a very lucrative market IC operates a daily flight

COK - CCJ - DOH - BAH - DOH - CCJ - COK WITH 5th freedom rts between doha and bahrain but being the only flight i think QR should be granted rights

GOI has connections to DXB and SHJ by AI IC respectively QR need not step in now

ATQ i dont know ... with IC IX giving conx to SHJ DXB is enough besides there arnt many north indians in the gulf when compared to the rest of t he world

BLR GF EK plus AI IC serving DXB SHJ MCT already plus availability of slots ... could be the reason

NOW JAI is one dest where i think QR should go it is only served By Air Arabia i think JAI should do well for QR

on the whole i think QR should be allowed to fly JAI and after sometime to BLR please correct my reasonings if im wrong

Because the ASA does not allow for these cities.

I agree with you. What I disagree with is this whole notion of "rationing" permissions by the babus in the MoCa. We should choose to sign full open-skies (with reciprocal benefits) with all these countries, giving the airlines the flexibility to choose what is commercially viable!
