Had to make a short trip to DEL on 21st so decided lets go for the best.

I was in BOM on 20th and hence decided to go from there itself to DEL.My itenerary for the day was

IT 305 BOM - DEL 1125 1325 A321
IT 154 DEL - PNQ 2110 2310 A319

First Leg

IT 305 : Mumbai - New Delhi

STD: 1125 hrs ATD : 1144 hrs Air Borne: 1153 hrs
STA: 1325 hrs Touchdown time: 1345 hrs Deplaning Time: 1355 hrs

Gate No. 4
Aircraft : A321-232
Seat No. : 17A

I Reached the airport around 1000 hrs. I have used the 1A terminal in mumbai after many years. As I stepped in went straight towards the baggage screening . The IT ground staff , must say , are real sharp and clever .. something like beauty with brains Very Happy . Got my baggage screened went to the check-in counter. Smooth check-in , Thanks to their tie - up with QR i could use my QR previlige club card to claim the miles.Got my boarding pass .. went through security check and then was taking pictures through the window

Now one AAI official asked me later on to stop clicking pictures as he said it is not allowed. I didnt argue with him further , as we were called for departure and besides had finished taking a lot of pictures. At that time there was an indian airlines to IXE departing and i saw half of those passengers had come from dubai. Iam sure IX must be doing real good on this sector. Even pne of my acquiantances told me that flights from DOH/BAH - IXE run full. At 1100 hrs our aircraft landed from DEL which would be used by us to go back there.

Boarding was called at 1125 hrs .We had to use te aerobridges which was a good thing, but i suppose only 1A is equipped with aerobridges and at 1144 hrs we pushed back. Thr FA's were all so hot !!! (pardon me for the language) . I also noticed that the flight was full . i think flights plying between BOM and DEL enjoy real good loads. The FA's first distributed the KF pouches and then they were instructed to settle down. On the BOM interbational apron saw a BA 744 ... was surprised as i thought it would be a B772 and another surprise was the 9W A332 which arrived from LHR which was supposed to be the B77W. There was a 9W B77W parked remotely elsewhere. We then approacehed the runway 09-27 and were airborne by 1153 hrs. Drinks were served follwed by lunch . We were served Grilled chicken in cracked pepper cream , roasted vegetables with garlic bread , mustard flavoured mash potato and a dutch truffle cake. The IFE was good could see pre recorded NDTV , ZOOM, Laughter Challenge -II episodes of star one. After lunch tea/coffee was served.

Very nice flight , we flew over surat , east gujarat , ajmer and then Delhi. Soon our descend started. On our descend i could see the nice construction of the metro rails going on. We landed snoothly at IGI at 1345 hrs without facing any Air traffic congestions. We docked at our parking bay at 1155 hrs. DEL airport has a real huge domestic apron. We were bussed to the airport and within minutes i was out of the airport.

Overall a very good flight , flawless in every aspect.

Second Leg

IT 154 : New Delhi - Pune

STD: 2110 hrs ATD : 2155 hrs Air Borne: 2210 hrs
STA: 2310 hrs Touchdown time: 0005 hrs Deplaning Time: 0025 hrs

Gate No. 3

Aircraft : A319-131
Seat No. : 06A

Reached the airport at 2030 hrs. Went inside the airport , got my luggage screened. Went to the check-in counter which was pretty empty .. as i was there a bit late. There were a host of IC counters and just 2 IT couters and one IT First class counter. Checked - in got my boarding pass , went through security check and waited there.

The aircraft was due to come from JAI as IT 612 ., but due to traffic congestions at DEL it arrived late , nealry 1.5 hrs behind schedule. Soon there was an announcement that there would be a 40 minute delay in departure. At the same time there were many departures of IT to MAA , HYD , BLR & BOM , and one IC departure to BOM.
All of these boardings happened smoothly . Contrary to Mr . MalQ 's experience the airport staff were very efficient. No chaos of any sort. In the mean time witnessed the departure of EY A345 to AUH and many other domestic departures.

Boarding was announced at 2145 hrs. We were bussed to the aircraft , our teeny weeny A319 , in an all economy configuration. First time for me in an A319 and an all economy aircraft. The seat next to me was empty and later i found out that waqs the only empty seat in the aircraft!!!. We moved at 2155 hrs , and 3rd in the line , we were airborne at 2210 hrs. The flight was the same like before , but the crew on the BOM - DEL leg were much better. The same inflight drill followed , pouches distributed, Drinks were served followed by dinner. We were served roasted corn and bell pepper salad , singapore stir fried chicken , egg and scallion fried rice , chocolate almond torte for dessert, followed by tea/coffee. We didnt fly over BOM as i thought would happen , we flew in over nashik and directly approached into the pune airspace. We began our descend at 2340 hrs and were circling around pune for nearly 20 mins , and finally at 0005 hrs we touched down and went to the other end of the runway , and after taking a 180 degree turn and were on hold on the main runway for 15 mins. The encircling of pune airport for 20 mins and the hold on the runway was due to the delay of an air sahara aircraft. The apron was full, and S2 was to leave 2 hrs ago. The S2 aircraft was a B737 , along with a spicejet 737, 9W 734, and an IT 320. The IT 320 and the 9W 737 I suppose have an overnight stay on the apron. So once S2 vacated the parking bay we parked at 0025 hrs. Got down claimed my luggage and went out.

On this leg the flight was good , but some room for improvement was there , FA's were a bit tired. But they were responsive and alert.

I think Mr. MalQ's RTI brought some revolution. As i stepped out of the airport saw a batallion of autos and taxis waiting over there , AAI staff alert and vigilant.

All in all had a good experience with kingfisher , and a point to be noted is that they have a good team of ground staff which really makes the experience more worthy. Cant wait till they fly international.

Making a trip to singapore , leaving on 26th evening will post a TR soon.

Thank you, great trip report, could you also list out the prices you paid please? The chaos I experienced at DEL that night was more due to some rather uncouth passengers warring with each other.

Also, the food you got on both sectors look much better than the food I got on my DEL-PNQ flight. I was supposed to head out PNQ-DEL on IT earlier this morning but the airline messed around with my reservations and so I just decided to sleep on and and also needed to spend one more day in Pune, so it will be one of the late night options.

The "overnighters" at PNQ as of now are 2 x Kingfisher Airbus320/319 and 1 x Jet Airways Boeing737. Surprised to note that you had a Spicejet aircraft on the tarmac too, that late at night, must have been terribly delayed or a charter?

Glad to note that auto-rickshaws and taxies are available late at night now.

sure

BOM - DEL 2225 + TAXES = 3500 this fare is valid only on IT 304/305 & 306/307

DEL - PNQ 3100 + TAXES = 4375

Also there is one spicejet flight to DEL via AMD i presume it coudve been that flight ... but there were no operations going on on that flight it laid there idle
.. No idea about it couldve stayed here due to a technical snag

Thanks fares on IT.

The Spicejet B-737-800, VT-SPC/Turmeric, was still on ground with repairs being carried out on Port Engine when I left PNQ for DEL late last night. Indications were that it will stay there for some more time.

What sort of engine repairs take so much time, anyways, and don't airlines have the option of flying in a spare engine and mounting it? Rather that keeping a full airplane parked for days?

There is no area called as remote at PNQ.
Whatever you say remote belongs to IAF, & they certainly would not want anything like that.
2 years back, IC A320 was stuck for 2 days but then traffic was not this high.
