Any opinion on the Kingfisher A320 from Herpa ? |
I managed to get the Kingfisher A-320 (VT-KFA) in March this year. I's in 1/500 scale from Herpa. Purchased it from Indus Aviation in Bangalore. A bit steep at Rs. 1,359.00. Good colours and moulding but tiny! Will post a picture soon.

Ah yes, finally a picture! That InFlight was announced a few months back I think. Gotta save some money for that one as it runs around $100 and I still need to buy the Continental 747s and 727. |

Yeah, that one's on a UK based website for 69 GBP, so I guess US$ 100 is a good estimate. I did pay the same for my Aeroclassics 707-300 (Everest) so I guess it's time for another big dent in the wallet but it'll be a good one to have in 1:200 |

Phoenix Models has announced they will be releasing Air India 777-200LR VT-ALA (1:400 scale) as part of their November releases. The model should be available in December. Reserve one with your retailer so you don't miss out!
No picture available just yet. |

Sammy, didn't Phoenix Models already have the Air India 777-200LR VT-ALA (in the still-born livery)? Do you mean they're gonna have it in the current colors now ?
Or is it gonna be VT-ALC. I read that somewhere. |

Here is one I created myself - I bought a DC-3 in USAF colors, & used silver spray paint to try & create a model of AI's DC-3 VT-CGP. Needless to say, it didn't come out too good!! I used 1980s vintage AI "Fragile" stickers to get the Air India titles from. Oh well - it was fun doing it. So here it is, not sure of the scale, though!
1:400 scale
Aeroclassics Indian Airlines Airbus A300 VT-EVD
And for good measure, here is the Aeroclassics IC A300 in 1:400 scale. Though not AI, she sits with the rest of my AI models - nostalgia perhaps!
And the one with the 50th Anniversary titles
Gemini Jets Jet Airways Airbus A340-300 VT-JWB
Ok, not quite Air India, but AI did lease VT-JWB from Jet Airways for a month to operate BOM-LHR flights
And
Gemini Jets Jet Airways Boeing 777-30ER VT-JEA
Gemini Jets Jet Airways Airbus A330-200 VT-JWF

Mel, I still have you in mind for that - I am in the process of setting up a new shelves for the purpose of lining them up for your shot., Besides, I have 5 new AI models on order (3 x 777, 1 x A330, 1 x 744), plus 1 Jet Airways 777, which should be here in Jan/Feb, so the collection would look bigger & better then. Till then I'll get the shelf set up so as to get a group shot of the ones I currently have. Thanks for your interest though. |
