Ah! so U seem to have both of them. How do U compare Gemini and DW to Herpa?

I thought AI 747-4 was only made by Herpa.

How are the landing gears in Gem/DW, do they go in?

Till now... GJ and DW have been the best... herpa are good but i dont collect that 1:500 size which herpa mainly makes....

i prefer the landing gear of the GJ and DW models..... GJ's are fixed and DW's are removable.

GJ is all metal while DW have plastic wings... which help in allowing them to put great detail in the wing.

regards
nitin

PS: the first time you buy DW, you will think the gear is broken.. thats what happened to me... it took me a while to realise that they are removable Smile

To get an idea of the actual size of the models, is the reliable bill on an A4 sheet or a larger sheet. If it's on an A4 sheet, then that means these models are in fact really minuscule!

OMG - and all this time I've been thinking that these models are relatively large, this seems like macro mode photography as it's best!!

Come to think of it, I do have at least 1 (9W) "die-cast" model, I did not know that size counts as the real thing Wink

In four and a half months you've gone from 3 models to over twenty. You've certainly caught the bug! It's one of the few negatives of the model hobby, it's addictive! Very Happy

Also, those are some nice models you've got there!

Thanks!

Yes it is one of the negatives. I have to control myself a bit. I've bought all of them ebay and set myself a price limit about 16 for 1:500 and 20 for 1:400. Of course, some special liveries there might be an exception.

Some of them were a steal , QF - F1 for 14ish, Thai - A330 - Royal Barge for 10ish, AI 787 - 14ish. The max I've paid is 23 and aptly for a Gemini 1:400 AI 744, a beauty. (All prices include shipping).

Cheers,

R

The best way to limit yourself is to focus your collection in some manner. Like say all airlines/aircraft that have visited BOM or DEL, or whatever is your favorite airport. Or just 747s, 777s, etc. When you start buying "models you like" things get out of hand. That's basically what happened to me and then I started collecting and then I sold off half of them and started specific collections...now my problem is I have too many specific collections! Laughing
