Is there that much traffic to MAA from Bangladesh. Maldives already serves Dhaka from MAA and now US Bangla, and especially from Chittagong. Only passengers could be medical and some business, doubt there will be many tourists either from MAA or from Bangladesh.

A few days ago , the Bangladesh government also announced that they would set up a consulate in Chennai.

Why this sudden Bangladeshi interest in Chennai???

I thought it was medical that said, 3 flights a week is a lot of seats, a lot. They probably could have done it twice a week but perhaps the demand is there. I think of Bengalis as a highly educated group. Surprising that so many leave for relatively routine medical care. Its not like they are traveling to meet the #1 cancer doctor or what ever
