Were they able to repair the Turkish Airlines A330 that crashlanded on March 4, 2015? I know that an Indian Air Force C130J Hercules aircraft went there with the recovery kit and helped move the plane off the runway.
Was the plane finally repaired? Or was it a write-off? |

I believe it is still stored in KTM, waiting for a decision about its future. _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

I'm going there on the 4th and 15th. Will try and take a photo.
Meljoe
Both engines - FOD plus nacelle damaged
Nose gear collapsed
Nose cone and Radome damaged
Flaps - FOD
Leading edge of wings - FOD
Lower fuselage - FOD
I think that's about it. Rest all is fine 😛 _________________ Always do everything into wind...... except piss |

They should be able to install new engines and fly the plane out of the country, right? Even if they cannot fly all the way to Istanbul I am guessing that they should at least be able to fly to a nearby country where more repairs can be done if necessary to ferry it back to Turkey.
Why can I not see "Turkish Airlines" name clearly? Has the insurance company paid off the airline and taken the aircraft over? |
