My name is Sam and I authored something on Team-BHP that prompted lambuhere1 to invite me to join this forum.
It's been posted on another thread here ( in Civil aviation- called a guide to Airports, Airlines and Air Travel) and it seems I cannot post any links yet. So I won't.
Call it a moment (more like a few hours) of madness, but there's my 15 minutes of glory.
I am a generally found lurking on Team-BHP. They call me the Yeti out of affection. Even though that is an automotive forum, I do not know much about cars. I content myself making lengthy posts on everything but the order of the day.
I am the brand director of JBL in India. JBL makes the world's best known loudspeakers. It's a fun job.
I am also (supposedly) an expert there on entertainment electronics and ICE (That's In Car Entertainment for the Aviation-Heads here )
I also wrote a Yetiguide to posting in Good English somewhere in between my 4000+ posts. Maybe you'll find it if you look.
That of course, is mainly for those that love the English language and would like to post and write in good English. Obviously you guys don't need much help on that, as the quality of posts here are excellent. (BTW, on your comprehensive and stunning spreadsheet of aircraft fleet owned by various companies, Embraer is spelt wrong on all counts and multiple times, do forgive me for pointing this out, I merely point this out as I love all things brazilian)
I travel an awful lot. This is mainly because of my work. I also travel the world because I love to travel. I also use the word travel an awful lot. Travel. Travel travel. Did I mention travel? Did I? Travel?
My interest in aviation is not professional, but I enjoy flying as a passenger. Perhaps the excessive travel (see? I used it again) has created a new hobby. Observation.
Sure I recognise a few planes (Hey ma look, an old Tristar with no hands!) and I know my Merlins from my CFMs, but that's due to hours of boredom during travel (Ding Ding!!!).
I content myself with watching the civil aviation change from transport and convenience medium to a hospitality industry.
Besides, my ex-wife was cabin crew for a leading domestic carrier and my girlfriend (soon to be wife) works as senior ground staff for an International Airline. As you can see, I have an awful lot invested in this industry. heh heh.
It has taken a great deal of self control not to post anything excessively tongue-in-cheek and mildly offensive as this has been an introduction.
I hope I can add value to this forum.
I've always wanted to say something like that line above. And travel. But I already said travel.
Cheers

Yak = Us = In my Tibetan land, the word yak refers only to the male of the species who are just enough in hair and height.
Yeti = You = With your posts on the links and here, it makes you the yeti one of the most famous creatures of cryptozoology and ainet
So in short ur the Men amongst Males _________________ Dictum meum pactum, "My word is my bond". |

Hi. I've been a member of this site for a while but haven't posted so many forums.
Another airliner enthusiast from Thailand. Very interested in Indian and Bangladeshi Aviation (too bad, there aren't any dedicated website to Bangladeshi aviation) No experience with any subcon carriers but would like to. And yes, would like to visit India one day
Oh, and also, great to see the continuing growth of the aviation sector between Thailand and India.. Nok Air will begin its flights to Hyderabad, Chennai and Delhi soon!! When will Jet fly to BOM from BKK????
And BTW, my name is Bird. (really... it's my nickname) |

Sawasdee khap, Nok Daeng ! ... welcome Redbird. Good to have someone from Thailand on board. Are you based in BKK? I have fond memories of the place, having lived there for 5 years. Miss the place, plan to visit there soon to catch up with some old friends and have a look at the new airport, which incidentally is quite close to where I used to work at The Nation.
