Just look at the size of those engines Shocked

Wonder whether there is an increased risk of FOD?

How does the ground clearance of the 320 NEO compare with the current 737NG and the 737Max?

After some quick googling:

Boeing 737NG : 18 inches
Boeing 737MAX: 16.9 inches.
Airbus A320: 26.4 inches (CFM)
33.48 inches (IAE)
Airbus A320 NEO: 22.08 inches (both engines)

So the NEO is still higher than the MAX, but the flat underside of the 737s engines would provide better protection to the wing and fuselage in the event of a belly landing.

FOD is clearly not an issue. It may be for the 737MAX.

I don't like it, it looks very disproportionate. Kind of like how the engines are too small on the 343 compared to the fuselage.

As long as it makes money, airlines wouldn't mind, just as they've lapped up some other models from Airbus's line like the A310 and the A380, both of whom won't win any prizes in an aircraft beauty pageant either.

Powerplant seems wide for the type.
