I flew on AI-348 today, The IFE content was much larger than my earlier flights:-

1. 10-12 Hollywood Movies.
2. 20 plus Hindi Movies.
3. Almost 10 movies each in Tamil, Telgu, Mararthi, Kannada, Gujarati and Malayalam.
4. A choiice of kiddie programs.
5. Games.
6. Documentaries.

Plus a choice of Audio programs.

Yes I know. What else would you want to change in a baby, in an airline lounge ?

I was commenting about the bad grammar.[/quote]

Seems a standard way of calling them: http://www.koalabear.com/baby-changing-stations

Ok, but that still does not forgive

ORD: 'Hot Chocolates with a capacity of 113 Passengers'
BAH: 'Disabled washroom'
LHR: 'And unlike previous lounge we have toilet facility in the Lounge.'
EWR: 'Deserts With A Capacity Of 200 Passengers'

and the stuff of genius in the baggage allowance section

A friend (another UA FFP based in India) managed to book AI on United Mileage plus reward bookings. Could not happen online (UA's website), but the agent managed this booking on the phone.

UA-MAA-BOM-IST-LHR-Mileage by nimish_blr, on Flickr

All for 50K miles + $288 taxes (mainly due to UK longhaul travel - the UK taxes along are $220! German airport charges are $39, Turkish airport charges are $22)

Amazing itinerary IMO!

I am surprised 9W still figure in there . If i were AI , i would totally eradicate 9W working with UA .

However with the ultra favorable Miles offered to all UA frequent fliers when flying AI , i feel 9W anyway will be sidelined . At least when it comes to folk paying to fly on them .

Redeeming miles is a different thing as 9W might have open inventory hence can be used .

We will have to wait and watch to see how this plays out .

To clarify - this is not flying 9W - this is flying on a TK flight, which happens to be operated by 9W on behalf of TK. All the costs and revenues for this flight accrue to TK, not 9W. It's a pure *A flying experience Smile

This is the leased 9W 77W that TK operate on BOM-IST and evidently on LHR-IST as well.

Clearly my bad . I have nothing against 9W however i feel AI should totally make the most of the Star alliance membership as they can offer whatever 9w can to the Star partners .

From: http://rapidtravelchai.boardingarea.com/2014/08/06/air-india-star-alliance-gold-experience/

Quote:
Air India Star Alliance Gold Experience

Air India recently joined Star Alliance and I had my first flight on them since their joining, AI 803 New Delhi – Bangalore.

Of all airports I would expect them to get Star Alliance benefits rolled out in New Delhi and I am happy to report that I received a pleasant Star Alliance Gold experience:
  • Priority check-in with no waiting
  • Moved to excellent seat, 6D, in first row of economy on Air India’s
  • A330-200 with tons of legroom
  • Air India lounge access card given without prompting
  • Priority boarding

Upon original boarding there were two people who went straight to first class. By the time we took off, all 24 seats had been filled by people coming up from the back of the plane.

Well - this is the first I've heard of a *A gold pax being given standard *G benefits on AI domestic, good for AI!

The self-bumping of Y pax to J - never heard of that before. Any thoughts?
