Gosh - I can't even remember. My first job in 1995 had email and "internet" - so probably then. Probably one of the internet directories that were popular at that time? _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

No idea to be honest. Probably the website of the ISP I had signed up with in the early-mid 90s. |

www.altavista.com in 1996, using the Netscape Navigator browser on a Silicon Graphics Indigo workstation
For those of you who who weren't a part of the IT revolution then, it was one of the first ever search engines, and it wasn't too bad. It no longer exists (or was brought by Yahoo, don't know which ).
Those were the times..... _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

Buff Bagwell was on the home page.
Second (a few minutes later) was hotsex.com
I am unable to post any pics from there. |

Because Dad blasted me straight after, and told me to make 'smart use' of the internet
And no, I'm not going to forget that!

VSNL was the sole ISP in India at that time. My first net connection cost me around 3K for a 100 hour package. _________________ Save Maharashtra! |

www.altavista.digital.com (or something like that) sometime in 1995-96 and there was airlines.com or airline.com that had logos of various airlines on the landing page.
First email address I noticed on someone's business card was around 1991-92 I guess. _________________ Tally Sheet:

www.yahoo.com in 1997. We had recently got a dial-up modem and VSNL internet package (Since we were in Coimbatore at that time, we had to apply to VSNL Chennai and it took 3 months for our dial up username and password to arrive.) |

1996. I guess it was all text based search back then. I remember getting my VSNL connection through Balasai.net in Pune. I also remember getting my first PC for a grand 50000Rs, with Creative Soundblaster speakers et al. |

Yahoo.com and Yahoo Chat in 1997 using Netscape Navigator which was a popular explorer.
Also I remeber using a tool called DialPad which was way ahead of its time wherein one could make free phone calls anywhere in the world. It was the Skype of the 90's before the telecom companies clamed it down. |
