Hello,

PAX service, punctuality, etc have been discussed meny times here, but maintenance is discussed very rarely.

Which domestic airline has the best maintained fleet?

I would say 9W for sure.

"Maintenance" does not only mean engineering work which keeps the craft flying.....which is what IC is good at doing, actually experts at cobbling together ageing CD 737-200s and the 3 remaining A300B2s, also some of the older 320s are now 16 years old.....to ensure that they keep flying!

BUT

For me as a passenger, the interiors are important ....functional seats, OHBs which don't snap open upon landing or takeoff or during turbulence, well maintained loos.......here's where IC fails miserably. Even Jet's 737-400s which are the oldest aircraft in the fleet ( VT-JAN, JAM, JAS, JAR, JAQ, JBA ) have very well maintained interiors and especially toilets.

And 9Ws engineering itself is possibly world-class which is why you rarely hear of 'hydraulic failure' or other incidents which one keeps hearing with IA and AI aircraft......

How about including Freighter ops.Wiyhout being partial.Ask any Mx dept in all Indian operators, including Regulatory body & DHL/BDA is def the best Smile

Its not only important to have good facilities/Technology but also a great team.

Its true that modern aircraft are easier to maintain as required checks & on ground time is less. But AOG stats tell the story Smile

From the Commercial Indian operators I would consider 9W to be well organised.Although their attitude is gradually diminishing to be similiar to Govt Airlines.

regds
