I'm sorry you had a bad trip back. Did you by any chance see 9Ws new B737-900ERs?
My dad is also taking SG next week to IXE. He wants to know whether it was reliable. I decided to just close this tab! _________________

EH I think you mixed up between 24hr and 12hr clock. At 17:00 flight delayed to 15:45 means 5:45 I suppose
As I had said before, SG operations is in a mess and their ground service is poor, this just proves it. |

What was the originally scheduled departure time? In the screenshot above, it does list 16:45 as dep. time... |
Same screenshot thing again. Look at the email I got into my inbox - it says 16:25.

Nope, my next 9W BOM-KWI-BOM run will happen only during Diwali. Which would be October.

Great report Varun - thanks for posting! The unprofessional at SG is telling. when there's a "late incoming flight" - you know exactly what time it will reach because it's probably already left the originating airport. In this case, to announce incremental 15 minutes delays is quite unacceptable, sounds like they don't have the b@lls to announce a 90 minute delay, which is rather sad.
Shucks on the rain and getting wet bit, I remember IT used to have chaps with a bag full of umbrellas on the apron and would escort you under an umbrella to escape the rain. Those were the days . _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

That is a great conclusion to a somewhat painful experience for you. Varun, I really liked your blow-by-blow account, of what happened at what time. It is nice to see the ET 767 - good catch. However, it was some awful weather for photography! About the over-cooling, I had experienced this in some Rajdhani Express trains, but thankfully, not yet on flights, or transit buses. My last SG bus trip was in 2006, it was an ordinary non-AC bus at BOM.
Varun - what exactly is this snack? It beat the daylights out of me. Some weird sort of biscuits/cookie? Did you actually get `chai', or was this the usual tea-bag tea? No trolleys at MAA, or FastTrack going out of cabs - is something I have never experienced at Chennai, and hope will never experience! FastTrack is a good private operator with a range of vehicles, both AC and non-AC. The good part about them is the phone booking option.
I am sorry to read about your illness - the rain and chilled AC did nothing to pacify the germs. Wish you a speedy recovery!
Cheers, Sumantra. |

As I had said before, SG is having troubles with their planes, so what essentially happens is regular planned rotations go our of sync and they start swapping planes, which means the ground staff remains clueless as to which plane would now go where and thus leads to not the right information being passed.
However in this case when there werent any flights around, the chances of swap were negligible and hence the 90 minute delay was to be announced early.
Thats where 6E scores, and they say it as well, our way of delaying with delays and cancellations - honesty
The more you compare airlines, 6E stands out.
As for IT, once upon a time, Vijaywada, like many other destinations, was a only IT airport and used to see high temperatures and a guest had sent a photo to the inflight magazine team saying this is how the service should be.
THe photo had the ATR and a staff of 9 with open umbrellas lining all the way from plane to terminal |

Nice part 2 Varun, sorry to see you have a bad experience with SG, but it is a rather innovative way of describing it!
Nice pics too!
I just love travelling during monsoons, apart from the great cloud views, the turbulence can just be awesome at times!

Tea bags, but you can't expect anything else mid-air, and on an LCC. The snack was a cheap cookie - given out with any purchase. Neither sweet, nor sour. Just a nifty little bite. _________________ Yeah. |
