Cricket already took a ride on the whale, in Hong Kong, to the best of my knowledge. In addition, I am looking at the Internet some more, and there doesn't seem to be too much interest about riding inside an A-380.

The A-340-600, which lands at Delhi everyday and manages Mumbai now and then, is already longer than the A-380. I guess we all know that too.

Anyways, I shall try to get some night photos on 7th night , at DEL.

Can anyone tell me what's the exact landing time at DEL?Guys, nowadays takeoffs are being conducted from Jumbo Point side due to wind changes. I think if the situation still prevails on the D day then we might have to make it to Dwarka side to see the landing.

Mel there seems to be an error in your information here is the info:

7th MAY promotionl flight 4:30 check in flight takes off at 5:00 or so and the duration of the flight it 1 hour.

8th MAY the A380 leaves for BOM arrives in the afternoon. (not sure abotu exact times)

9th MAY another 380 promotional flight probably an hour or so as prajay said at 2:00 or 2:30om.

10th MAY i think it flys back to DEL and later on back to TLS.

The world’s largest airplane , the A380 is coming to Delhi and Mumbai airports on May 7 and May 9. The occasion—the second anniversary celebrations of Kingfisher Airlines—the only Indian Airlines which has so far ordered the aircraft.

The airport staff has started special inspections of the runways on which the A380 will be landing. A “follow-me” vehicle with support staff from Airbus will escort the aircraft to the parking bay. There will be a full-fledged fire and rescue staff patrolling this 525-seater giant aircraft throughout its stay in India.

An extensive watering programming has been organised by Mumbai airport before landing and departure to ensure that areas along the runway and the parking bay are damp in order to prevent any dust damage to aircraft.

Delhi Airport executives point out that the runway and taxiway have been equipped to handle this big aircraft. Mumbai Airport executives say the A380 will land on the main runway (09/27) and will exit the runway through taxiway B4 which is the first exit after the intersection of the main runway and cross runway.

Just read it on Economic Times website that A380 will land today at 10:30 AM. Don't know about the present status.
And if it has, from where can we see it?

I spoke with the airport official and they told me that the A380 is parked near the cargo terminal. Moreover, on asking from where we can have a glimpse of it... they say I don't know you and I am sorry I can't tell you and she banged... RUDE people!!!.....
But don't worry I'm going to the airport and will take my camera along and hope I click the bird...

Airbus is in the Airbus colours.
No Kingfisher decals.

Times Now had good pictures of its thundering down the Delhi runway while an IA A320 was waiting for take-off.
Lucky IA passengers and pilots!!

Will be near the Haj Terminal.

Of course the correspondent made us all laugh. Said it has 800 seats with sauna and lunges and passengers will be having a ball.
Also said Kingfisher has announced that it will use the A380 on the Delhi-Mumbai route.

The A-380 in Airbus colours is parked at the Haj Terminal, near the cargo terminal, and you get a decent enough distant view of the plane from the road leading to the International Airport.

I have a small digital camera, and the photos are being uploaded at http://www.flickr.com/photos/vm2827/ the best I could get, not too good, sorry.

Interestingly, there were a lot of people stopping to grab the best photos they could of the whale, people with families et al. I think the chana-moongphali and ice-cream valas will follow soon, then there will be a trafiic situation, and then the cops will prevent people from taking photos eventually.
