Regarding Mask violators in US.....
With many of the idiot US Republican Party governors repealing the mask mandate and leaving it up to individual businesses, this is one of the more sensible mandates from the US federal government.
Regarding AI privatization.....
This is good, that the government is now looking to attempt to privatize by next fiscal year, giving it one more year, by then hopefully they will get better bids. |

When will India resume international flights?
Tue, April 13, 2021, 3:26 AM
Indians may have to hold off their international holiday plans for now. Restrictions on commercial international flight operations from India, which were first imposed in March 2020 in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, may last for the most part of 2021, experts believe. Last month, the Narendra Modi government extended the restrictions until April 30, but given the current strong second wave of the pandemic, the ban will most likely get further extended.

The question now is not when will India resume International flights, the question when will the various countries remove restrictions for Indian residents and citizens and flights from India.
Most of the countries (except notably US) have banned or restricted flights from India. Whether India lifts the ban is irrelevant as the Indian carriers dont have much traffic to support except on the one-way out from India. |

I'm sure there are quite a few but showing them won't have the same ''impact'.
It's all about 'impact' read yellow journalism. And it's about as disgusting as it gets.
Now I'm not denying there's a crisis. There is. A crisis that is beyond everyone's comprehension and it's not just India that is struggling. India's problems are just greater because it's a bigger and more complicated country than most others. Narendra Modi's government may have failed on many fronts, but now is not the time to take potshots at it, taking advantage of a national calamity. Everyone must rally behind the only government India has, and must focus on saving lives. Holding the government to account can come later at election time.
It's downright disgusting how the left-wing 'liberals' in India are using the calamity as an opportunity to get back at the government. In no other country has this happened. Maybe there's some truth in all the allegations about a certain section of the media and a few observers being funded by 'outsiders' after all. _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

I wish this thread was reserved for Kolkatta airport only. Recently I have been noticing threads within threads, like purchase of drones. They can be posted in appropriate threads in different sections, which will generate further discussion. Please make a note going forwards.
Thanks

Dear Sabya and the rest here. You're pretty much killing the Military Aviation & Space thread over. Please restrict the discussions here to CCU only! If there isn't much to talk about CCU, then let it be. Other topics can go to their respective sections and thread.
Thanks for underestanding

It is a good thing for Guwahati that Adani will now be operating. Airport will see improvements.
Why there is no move to privatize MAA and CCU airports, two biggest which are still AAI run. |

It is a good question. Both MAA and CCU requires massive fund infusion from private sources. Political and other issues did not let that happen. Recently lot of construction activity going on at CCU and will be revealed by AAI in due course. MAA also getting new terminal. I don’t know whether it will be adequate for future traffic growth. _________________ Sabya99 |

For domestic passengers, negative PCR test OR vaccination record is all that required for passengers bound for Mumbai and other cities in Maharashtra. Most states either require vaccination or have no requirements. Only for Karnataka, if coming from Maharashtra or Kerala, negative PCR test is required regardless of vaccination.
Also Mumbai has more restrictions for passengers coming from at risk countries so the few I know (coming from UK) are flying to other cities in India and then going to Mumbai to avoid the extra PCR testing. |
