(Royal) Nepal Airlines is in a crisis, says Aaj Tak (Dec. 25).
Its pilots are quitting due to low salary and perks. Its star pilots
Captain K.B. Limbu, president of Nepal Airlines Pilot Association has left to join Air U.K. while Capt. Bishal Dewan is planning to join Air India.
The channel says the number of pilots rostered for international flights has decreased to 40 from 42 while pilots for domestic is just 10 for a fleet of three planes.
NA officials says the number is too small for NAC’s 10 international destinations and other domestic destinations.
Most of the other pilots want to join airlines in India. The booming market, huge salaries and the comfortable proximity of India just being acrosss the border are the main reasons. |
