From what I have got to know.. nope! May be just May as said by Mallya! But I dont see what routing will it do? I mean they just wont get it to India and get back.. They have like done a Round The World before..
May be.. Qatar > UAE (AUH) > BOM > SIN again or something.. noooo idea.. _________________ victor2alpha |

I read the article and it mentioned that there will be a select group of passengers who will board into the acft for a trial flight.
How will they select the passengers who can fly on that plane?Do we have to be KF pax on one of their domestic flights to DEL or MUM? _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |

Knowing Mallya it will be one huge and big fat Bollywood party, and where he will proclaim himself to be the Emperor of the Indian skies.
There was so much tamasha for a tiny A320 where even Air India's hangar was hijacked and had a makeover.
So expect the same event x10. |

Trial flights will be held at Delhi and Mumbai with select passengers on board.
The airports have brought in a custom-built towbar to push the plane back onto the runway from its park position.
The 45-metre-wide runway in Delhi with 7-metre grassy shoulders — the area on either side of the runway where the grass is flattened out — has been worked on to accommodate the A380. The grassy shoulders are now 15 metres wide.
Delhi airport is also readying a new 80-metre-wide runway, described in aviation circles as Code F runway, to handle the A380 and other large planes now being worked on by aircraft makers.
The Centre had last year chalked out plans to make changes in five airports to accommodate the four-engine superjumbo. “Besides Delhi and Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai and Bangalore will be made suitable for the A380,” a top civil aviation ministry official said.

Just got some news:
The A380 may touch Chennai and Cochin airports.
Both the airport directors have made out a case for their respective airports.
(Reports have appeared in all the major dailies.)
Chennai's Dinesh Kumar has said Chennai is A380 ready aand that the airport has being getting ready for such an event. Says Chennai has the country's third largest runway. Also, bay 35 is exclusively for the A380.
Chennai was anyway gettng ready to be a diversionary A380 airport keeping in mind Singapore's acquistion of the aircraft.
***
Cochin director too has said the same thing and talked about the runway length as being ideal.
So we may have 4 airports now that get to see the A380.

I still have a doubt on BOM...but is the airport ACTUALLY ready to get the aircraft ? I mean rwy length and enforcement is quite good but after that i doubt if it can taxi because of its huge size and small width of the taxi track... _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

Schedule for the A80 in India:
Will arrive in Delhi on May 6
After being demonstrated in Delhi for two days, the aircraft will proceed to Mumbai on May 9 where it will join the anniversary celebrations of the Vijay Mallya controlled airline. It is scheduled to fly back to its base in Toulouse, France on May 10.
A 380’s airport compatibility tests in India will be done in cooperation with the Airport Authority of India, Delhi and Mumbai airports and Kingfisher Airlines.
Airport officials said that the A 380 is scheduled to arrive in Mumbai at 4 pm and get parked at very close to the Kingfisher anniversary celebrations venue at the Air India hanger near the 2C international terminal. This is the same venue from where Mallya launched the airline two years ago amidst much fanfare.
Kingfisher Airlines will launch a promotional campaign on the occasion.
http://www.hindustantimes.com/StoryPage/StoryPage.aspx?id=c6febe8d-92ae-4753-ab23-f66d94afaec4&&Headline=A380+inaugural+flight+to+touch+Delhi+on+May+6
Now Chennai and Cochin are trying very hard to get a landing. The method? By pushing some of the tourist attractions and visits here as the carrots to the pasengers, officials and crew. |
