Hey guys I managed to break the stand of my AI 744 1:400. So the bit that goes into the body is stuck inside and the rest has brokenn off. I haven't tried to super glue it yet. Does tht work? Or is it possible to get a replacement stand?

Appreciate the help.

Cheers

I will also want to know how to stick it as the small black part that goes into the main fuselage has broken. I tried to engineer and create one by melting the plastic and then remoulding it to its original, but the plane does not rest on it at all.

Also, where do you get a replacement stand.

Who makes it? Is it a plastic stand?

I assume you guys are talking about the Dragon model as the only other AI 744 in 1/400 is from Gemini Jets and uses a metal stand.

In order to get the piece left in the stand hole you'll have to use a very small drill bit to remove it. Make sure you go slowly and have a variable speed drill. Also, it is a good idea to tape off the area around the hole to protect the paint in case the drill slips.

You can contact Dragoncare.com and request a stand.

Not much luck with what? Dragoncare.com?

I used to sell these but I don't have any spare stands but you shouldn't have trouble getting a stand from them.

They have quoted USD $ 5 for the stand + shipping, hence i suggested if anyone knew how we could either get it cheaper or bargain for a better deal.

Wow, that's a bit much for that stand.

Here's a trick Next time you buy a Dragon model let them know the stand was missing from the package. They should send a replacement for free in that case. Just make sure you have the receipt (not from eBay)) and there should be no problem. I can try to find one for you as well. I used to have a stack of them but gave many away
